Time and Space to discover Who’s Who
Colette Johnston and Lynette Eaves are our full-time hospitality staff. Their gifts of catering, house-keeping and pastoral care support the community and the work of both houses.
Elsie Peace is a long-standing part-time residential community member. Elsie’s gifts of gardening, hospitality and pastoral care are particularly focused on the flower arranging throughout the two houses.
Keith Horne has been our main Masseur for many years, and lives in community for part of each week. Pastoral care and DIY are among the many gifts he brings.
Revd Elizabeth Baxter pioneered Holy Rood House with Stanley in 1993. Elizabeth is Executive Director of the Trust and lives in community full-time and is involved in the running of the day to day life of the community. She is pastor and chaplain to the community. Elizabeth is a spiritual director and theologian and co-ordinates The Centre for the study of Theology and Health and is Associate of the Guild of Health.
Revd Stanley Baxter pioneered Holy Rood House with Elizabeth in 1993 and was joint Executive Director until 2009. Stanley is part of the management team as Hon Director of Mission and keeps our therapeutic and theological networks alive. He is also Vice-Chair of The Guild of Health with which we are in partnership. Stanley lives in community part-time and is part of the chaplaincy team.
Elaine Wisdom is our Art Therapist and has been living and working in the community over the last two decades. She is a Roman Catholic and for many years lived as a religious sister. Elaine now offers her many creative and pastoral gifts two days a week, occasional weekends, Summer Schools and Houseparties.
Jim Dalton is Chair of the Board of Trustees, and has been a Trustee since 2010. Jim retired in 2012 after forty three years working in education, in schools and for Hertfordshire County Council, and is presently a school governor, churchwarden and church treasurer.
Professor Mary Grey has been a Patron to the Trust for many years. Mary is a Roman Catholic theologian and author of several books in our library and supports the community through her interests in both therapy and theology.
Carolyn Williamson is a residential community member and Executive Assistant to Elizabeth. Among the many gifts she brings is the care and organisation of groups.
Nick Warwick lives in community at Holy Rood House, and is the Business Manager of the Trust. Alongside his pastoral and practical gifts, Nick especially supports the on-going development and sustainability of the Charity.
Helen Warwick lives here in community too. Helen is part of the Chaplaincy Team and is a spiritual writer. Helen’s ministry as a Spiritual Director here uses creativity at the heart of her work including creative writing.
The Rt Revd and Rt Hon Baron Williams of Oystermouth has been a consultant to the Trust since 1993, and became Patron during his time as Archbishop of Canterbury, supporting and visiting the community on several occasions.
